The Philadelphia Stock Exchange Announces April Volume - Sector Index Options Volume increases

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange announced today that volume in April in sectors index options increased 9.67% when 585,331 contracts traded compared to 533,712 contracts traded in the previous month. Sectors index options volume in April declined 10.27% compared to the same year-ago period when 652,295 contracts traded.

Equity options volume for April declined 0.22% when 11,446.856 contracts traded compared to the previous month when 11,471,847 contracts traded. However, daily average volume was up 4.5% in that same period. Equity options volume in April declined 2.10% when compared to the same year-ago period when 11,692,026 contracts traded.

Equity volume for April reached 127,531,932 shares, down 10.03% from the previous month when 141,745,854 shares traded. Volume for April declined 52.33% compared to the same year-ago period when 267,516,091 shares traded.

Volume trading volume in the customized and standardized currency options for April totaled 12,959 contracts, a decline of 43.75 % compared to the previous month when 23,039 contracts traded.
