The Oscars 2006: Performance Of The Dow Jones Media Titans 30 vs. Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 vs. Dow Jones Global Titans 50 Index

Hollywood is celebrating the 78th Annual Academy Awards Ceremony on March 5, 2005. The Dow Jones Media Titans Index tracks the industry and thus the financial impact of movies like the blockbusters.

Since the last Oscar ceremony on March 1, 2005, the Dow Jones Media Titans 30 is down -5,72% compared to the Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800, a global benchmark index, which increased by 10,21%. The Dow Jones Global Titans 50, a global blue-chip index, is up 1,22% during the same period.

War of the Worlds, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Star Wars Episode 3 are the Top 3 worldwide box office sellers. All three movies are also Academy Award nominees.
