The Options Industry Council (OIC) announced today it has named Clay Ludlum as Director of Financial Advisor Education as part of its expanding effort to educate the financial advisor community about options.
Last year OIC launched its Financial Advisor education program with the creation of the OIC Advisor portal, www.OptionsEducation.org/Advisor , and the addition of Eric Cott to head up education efforts to advisors.
In this new consulting role, Mr. Ludlum will work with Mr. Cott to meet the growing demand for options education in the advisor arena. Mr. Cott is based on the East Coast. Mr. Ludlum will be based in Chicago. In addition to participating in advisor-related conferences, Mr. Ludlum will collaborate on options curriculum and web content for the OIC Advisor website and work with firms, associations, academic institutions and the media to promote options education.
“We are pleased to have Clay join OIC to help meet the demand we have experienced by advisors wanting to learn more about how options can fit into their client’s investment strategies,” said Gina McFadden, President of OIC.
Over the last 20 years, Mr. Ludlum has been involved in the financial services industry in various leadership roles. Prior to joining OIC, he founded and served as President of an entrepreneurial upstart specialized RIA. Before that, Mr. Ludlum was President of Citigroup’s retail brokerage division (Smith Barney) for the state of Delaware where he was responsible for executing the firm’s global wealth management strategy. Previously he also held positions with Merrill Lynch as Vice President and financial advisor in the firm’s Private Client Division.
