A participant in the securities industry for over 21 years, Mr. Bertrand has served on the Governing Committee of the Montreal Exchange since 1992, and has been on its Executive Committee since 1994. He has acted as Chairman of the Governing Committee since 1998.

He was instrumental in bringing the Canadian exchanges together and steering the agreement which led to the restructuring of the Canadian stock and derivative markets,' said Jacques O. Nadeau, who headed the search committee that proposed Luc Bertrand's candidacy to the Governing Committee.
