Total number of trading days in September 2009 amounted to 20 days with a total value traded of US$ 4,732 million (LE 26,025 million). Value traded of listed securities amounted to US$ 4,256 million (LE 23,410 million), of which shares, bonds and funds represented 89.27%, 10.73% and 0.00%, respectively. Unlisted securities i.e. Over the Counter trading reached US$ 476 million (LE 2,615 million), which represents 10% of total value traded for the month.
This is in comparison to August 2009, when value traded of listed securities amounted to US$ 5,804 million (LE 32,095 million), of which shares represented 82.61%, bonds 17.39% and funds 0.00%. In addition, the OTC trading amounted to US$ 351 million (LE 1,943 million) i.e. 6% of total trading (on- and off-exchange trading), which reached US$ 6,155 million (LE 34,038 million).
Total volume traded of listed securities market for this month reached 1,765 million securities.
During September 2009, 1,118,510 transactions were concluded with an average of 55,926 trades per day, as opposed to 1,416,930 transactions and an average of 64,406 trades per day in August 2009.
Indices
EGX 30 index, the official market index, witnessed a 0.54% increase in September 2009 to reach 6761.73 points and witnessed a YoY decline of 4.21%.
Likewise, EGX 70 price index witnessed a 21.16% increase in September 2009 to reach 929.75 points and witnessed a YoY increase of 27.83%.
Moreover, EGX 100 price index witnessed a 15.76% increase in September 2009 to reach 1405.45 points and witnessed a YoY increase of 20.83%.
Meanwhile, the Dow Jones EGX Egypt Titans 20 index witnessed a 0.51% increase in September, to close at 1408.19 points on 30/09/2009, and a 4.90% decrease on a YoY basis.

Market Capitalization
