Value traded of listed securities amounted to US$ 3,178.84 million (LE 17,737.91 million), of which shares, bonds and funds represented 91.76%, 8.24% and 0.00%, respectively. Unlisted securities i.e. Over the Counter trading reached US$ 496.26 million (LE 2,769.13 million), which represents 14% of total value traded for the month.
This is in comparison to October 2008, when value traded of listed securities amounted to US$ 2,740.96 million (LE 15,075.25 million), of which shares represented 92.87%, bonds 7.13% and funds 0.00%. In addition, the OTC trading amounted to US$ 773.72 million (LE 4,255.45 million) i.e. 22% of total trading (on- and off-exchange trading) which reached US$ 3,514.68 million (LE 19,330.70 million).
Total volume traded of listed securities market for this month reached 2,082.55 million securities.
During November 2008, 1,210,188 transactions were concluded with an average of 57,628 trades per day, as opposed to 722,073 transactions and an average of 40,115 trades per day in October 2008.
Indices
CASE 30 price index, the official market index, witnessed a 10.82% decrease in November 2008 to reach 4205.86 points and witnessed a YoY decline of 56.74%.
Likewise, the Dow Jones CASE Egypt Titans 20 index witnessed a 12.37% decrease in November, to close at 885.05 points 30/11/2008, and a 56.82% decrease on a YoY basis.

During the month of November, the top five gainers, on the official EGX market, were (in descending order of price change) Upper Egypt Contracting (+102%), Nasr Company for Civil Works (+72%), Cairo Development and Investment (+70%), Alexandria Spinning & Weaving (SPINALEX) (+60%) and Extracted Oils (+55%).
The top five losers were (in ascending order of price change) Prime Holding (-38%), Blom Bank Egypt (-35%), National Investment & Reconstruction (-35%), Ahli United Bank Egypt (-33%) and El Ahram Co. for Printing and Packing (-33%).
Market Capitalization
