As per The Egyptian Exchange’s commitment to develop trading mechanisms and enhance market efficiency, EGX sent survey to its members of brokerage firms aiming to gather their opinions regarding the proposal of extending trading hours for one extra hour, and studying the related operational and technical impacts.
EGX clarified that the survey resulted in about 55% of the participating companies approving the proposal, emphasizing that according to this result the proposal and survey results will be further discussed in details to study the possibility of its implementation.
EGX Executive Chairman, Dr. Azzam added that operational, technical and regulatory aspects will be considered, to ensure efficiency of trading system as well as protecting interests of all participants, within collaborative framework involving market participants in decision making, achieving balance between development of trading mechanisms, enhancing its efficiency, as well as protecting interests of participants.
