The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) announces that the following semi-annual indices review changes will become effective on Sunday, 3 August 2025.
EGX30 index will witness a change in 3 companies, while EGX70 EWI will have a change in 15 companies; 3 of which will join EGX30. In addition, EGX100 EWI will witness a change of 12 companies.
EGX33 Shariah index, which includes the most compliant companies with Shariah among the highly liquid companies, witnessed a change in 5 companies. Worth noting that in light of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), and the Shariah Committee keenness to maintain index stability, and in line with international practices in this regard, a new criterion has been introduced, stipulating that “the Committee reserves the right to retain a current constituent in the index for one review period, even if it fails to meet only one of the financial criteria for inclusion; with the exception of the criterion of the occasional income generated from non-compliant business activities, which must not exceed 5%. The company has to be fully complied with all inclusion criteria to be selected among the index constituents in the following review.

EGX conducts the semi-annual rebalance for its indices at the beginning of February and August of every year, whereby constituents are reviewed according to their respective methodologies.
As for the treasury bonds index, 9 issues of treasury bonds were added, and 5 were deleted, thus bringing the total number of bonds in the index to 19 issues. Worth mentioning that the Egyptian Exchange conducts a monthly review of treasury bond indices, according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the indices methodology.
The following changes will be implemented as of August 3rd, 2025.

The Paper & Packaging Sector Index remained discontinued, as it did not meet the criteria of the minimum number of constituents. Meanwhile, Energy & Support Services Sector index has re-continued as it met the criteria of the index methodology.
