Today, the Copenhagen Stock Exchange published its annual report for 2003. The Annual Report is available in Danish and English at the Exchange's website, www.cse.dk, click 'About us' and then 'Accounts etc'.
The year 2003 produced satisfactory results though the first half of the year was characterised by a somewhat weak equity market and slow issuance activities. However, the overall development on all our markets was positive in 2003," said President and CEO Hans-Ole Jochumsen.
The value of share trading rose by 6 per cent compared with 2002 and amounted to DKK 416.5 billion, the second highest in the history of the Exchange. Trading in investment certificates, both listed and unlisted admitted to trading on the XtraMarked, totalled DKK 64 billion, a 51 per cent increase on 2002. Bond trading amounted to DKK 6,877 billion, up 16 per cent on 2002, and trading in futures and options rose by 43 per cent to 769,000 contracts in 2003.
