The Copenhagen Stock Exchange: New selection Criteria For The KFX Index

Date 18/04/2001

The Copenhagen Stock Exchange has decided to change the selection criteria for the KFX Index so that it will primarily be the 20 most active shares of the reference period that will be included in the KFX Index. The new criteria are more in line with international rules regulating indices on which futures and options are issued.

This means that the day after the expiry of a given reference period we will set up a base portfolio comprising the 25 most actively traded shares in the trading system. The KFX portfolio will subsequently comprise the 20 most active shares, provided that they were among the 25 most active shares in the trading system for at least 40 per cent of the days in the reference period (corresponding to some 50 trading days).

The new selection criteria will take effect as from the reference period beginning on 1 June 2001. The revised KFX rules will be published on the Exchange's home page as soon as possible.
