FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Index:

The Copenhagen Stock Exchange Launches Performance Indices From 14 December 2001

Date 26/11/2001

From 14 December 2001, the Copenhagen Stock Exchange will fulfil the wishes of many investors of having a great number of performance indices, which can be used as benchmark for investments in Danish shares.

In future we will calculate performance indices in real time related to the following: the KBX Index (benchmark), the KAX Index (all share), the KFMX Index (mid and small cap index) and also our sector and industry group indices. At the end of the trading day, we will furthermore calculate and publish performances on 40 industry indices.

Senior vice president Peter Belling says: "For quite a long time we have discussed the need for performance indices with our members and professional investors. With the launch of no less than 33 performance indices in real time, we will meet their immediate needs. Next spring, when we will transfer to a new index platform, we subsequently expect to expand our index universe further with capped share indices and more bond indices among other things."

Brief explanation of price and performance indices: A price index gives a view of the price development of a given group of shares adjusted for changes in the listed capital which are not a consequence of the supply and demand conditions with the exception of dividend. A performance index is adjusted for any dividends, yet otherwise calculated as a price index.
