FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Index:

The Copenhagen Stock Exchange Includes Foreign Companies in Share Indices

Date 11/04/2000

As from Monday 17 April 2000 the Copenhagen Stock Exchange will include foreign companies in its share indices, and thus the Exchange will be on a par with international practice.

There will be two methods of calculating the weighting of a foreign company, depending on whether the company is registered with the Danish Securities Centre (VP) or not.

Foreign companies registered with the VP will be included in the index portfolios at the market value (weight) of the number of shares registered in VP accounts.

In respect of foreign companies which are not registered with the VP the Copenhagen Stock Exchange will use a model that is primarily based on the relative turnover on the exchange compared with the company's total turnover in the principal places of listing.

The weight of the foreign companies in the All-Share and Sub-group indices will be updated on a monthly basis, while the KFX and KFMX indices will be adjusted in connection with revisions. Specification of rules in connection with the delisting of a share class selected for a coming KFX portfolio If a share class, which has been selected for the KFX active portfolio, is delisted in the period from selection to implementation, this share class will be replaced by a share class from the KFX basic portfolio (21st share class).
