The Budapest Stock Exchange Has Moved To Andrássy Út

Date 13/04/2007

From its building in Deák Ferenc utca, the Budapest Stock Exchange has moved to the former Herzog Palace at 93 Andrássy út. The reason why the move was necessary is that the owner wishes to rebuild and operate the building in Deák Ferenc utca as a department store in the future.

The transfer was arranged without having to close trading for days, therefore, on Monday, March 19, the markets opened on the virtual floor set up in the new building.

This is the third seat the Budapest Stock Exchange has used since it was re-established in 1990. The building in Deák Ferenc utca was home to the Budapest Stock Exchange for 15 years, while stock exchange trading was previously conducted in the Trade Center in Váci utca.
