The Autorité Des Marchés Financiers Publishes Its 2012 Annual Report And Submits Its 2013-2016 Strategic Plan To Public Consultation

On 13 June 2013 Gérard Rameix, Chairman of the Autorité des Marchés Financiers, briefed the press on the 2012 AMF Annual Report, the 10th to date. He also outlined the key strategic directions of the AMF for the next three years. The Strategic Plan is submitted to public consultation until 6 September 2013.

The new directions defined by the Autorité des Marchés Financiers serve to reaffirm the principle that properly regulated finance is essential to economic growth.

In his speech to the press, Gérard Rameix said that he was “profoundly and personally convinced that the regulator must contribute to making finance meaningful again”.

This vision of useful finance underpins the AMF’s three key action priorities for 2013-2016:

•  Make every effort to achieve transparent, safe markets in Europe
•  Restore investor confidence
•  Bolster the financing of the economy
