The 8th China International Oils and Oilseeds Conference (CIOOC), a grand annual gathering of the oils and oilseeds industry, is to be held in Guangzhou from November 13 to 14.
Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) and the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives (BMD) have begun to organize the International Oils and Oilseeds Industry Conference since 2006, which aims at positively displaying the functions of futures market in serving the national economy and the industry, effectively promoting the in-depth integration of the oils and oilseeds futures market and the entity industry, and greatly facilitating the increase of the management ideas and skills of enterprises. At present, the oils and oilseeds conference, having been held for several consecutive years, has become the high-end conference with greatest influence in China’s oils and oilseeds industry and has been highly recognized by enterprises and investors of relevant industries.
Right now, rapid development has been seen in domestic and foreign oil market, with the price index of palm oil futures of DCE going up by 14.05% and closing at RMB 6,186 per ton in October. Meanwhile, the price index of the soybean oil futures of DCE began to rise up from the low point at the end of September and its open interest has reached the record high of over 1.28 million contracts. As a result, all market participants presented divergence of views on the future price trend of the oils and oilseeds market.
Under such market condition, relevant person of the Organizing Committee of the 8th CIOOC introduced that the current conference aims at setting up a high-end industrial service platform for information sharing, mutual cooperation and development,to reinforce the communication and coorperation within the oils and oilseed industry,and to foster the healthy growth of China's oils and oilseed industry. During the conference, major speeches on “Analysis and Expectation of Current Macro-economic Situation”, “Production and Export of American Soybean and its Influence on Global Market”, “Global Supply and Demand of Palm Oil and its Price Trend”, “Supply and Demand of Vegetable Oil in China and Its Development Trend”, and “Development of Palm Oil Industry and its Pattern Adjustment” have been organized. The speech topics were specially chosen concerning the major focuses of the conference participants and the conference hopes to provide participants with complete analysis on industry supply-demand pattern and to offer information support for enterprises’ decision-making.
It is learnt that as the current development situation of the oils and oilseeds market is very complicated and confusing, the 8th Conference has received great attention from and active participation of all parties, with the corporate industry customers taking up 80% of the total.
