The 16th China International Oils and Oilseeds Conference jointly held by Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) and Bursa Malaysia Derivatives (BMD) took place virtually on November 11, 2022. The conference is structured around the theme of "Embarking on a new journey to connect domestic with foreign markets". Datuk Umar, Chairman of BMD and Yan Shaoming, CEO of DCE, attended the conference online and delivered speeches.
The conference focused on hot topics such as the current status of soybean crushing industry in China, changes in the supply and demand of global oils and oilseeds market, as well as enterprise risk management resolutions. Seven experts were invited to deliver keynote speeches. Present at the meeting were Zhou Yueqiu, Chief Economist of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China; Yang Baolong, President of China Soybean Industry Association; Zhang Liwei, Head of the Decision-making Service Division of China National Grain & Oils Information Center; Zhou Jishuai, General Manager of the Oils Business Department of COFCO Oils and Oilseeds; Huang Huohui, Chief Representative of the Malaysian Palm Oil Board Shanghai Office; Dong Yuxin, Head of Cargill Risk Management in the Asia Pacific region; and Li Yongzhao, Chairman of China Materials Storage & Transportation Association and Vice President of China Materials Storage & Transportation Group. Directors of relevant departments from DCE also introduced the operation of DCE’s oils and oilseeds futures market and work related to the high-quality development of oils and oilseeds industry.
Since 2006, DCE has held the International Oils and Oilseeds Conference with BMD for 15 years. The conference serves as a high-end platform for the oils and oilseeds industry to share information, exchange and cooperate, and seek common development. It has also provided opportunities for the industry and enterprises to deepen their understanding of the futures market, promoting the integrated development of the futures market and spot market.
