SETTRADE.Com Co., Ltd announced that, in 2006, it would further develop its existing platform to help it better serve the derivatives market. Currently, its platforms handle equity and debt trading to serve securities companies, institutional investors and bond dealers. SETTRADE will launch its platform for derivatives in June 2006.
The new SETTRADE system currently being designed to serve derivatives brokers will be developed in cooperation with Daishin Securities, a leading Internet trading provider in Korea with a million users. Daishin’s system utilizes state-of-the-art technology, which SETTRADE’s IT team will adapt to suit the Thai market. In addition to the Internet trading platform for derivatives, SETTRADE will add a derivatives data screen to its current systems, including its two investor portals (www.settrade.com and www.webhoon.com) and its TV ticker.
For 2006, SETTRADE will also improve its system’s efficiency and stability. It also having 25 clients for its institutional bond-trading platform and will develop a platform for individual investors that same year.
As of Nov. 30, 2005, total trading via the Internet in the market stood at THB499.47 billion (approx. USD12.18 billion), or 6.61% of the total trading turnover. There are 90,468 Internet trading accounts currently active.
SETTRADE’s performance in 2005 included developing both the efficiency and stability of its Internet trading systems. It has launched a system using streaming technology that enables high-speed data transmissions and automatic ‘push- and pull-technology’ for data responses. With ongoing developments such as mobile services for mobile phones and PDAs, streaming technology, and an efficient Internet trading platform, SETTRADE boosted its broker clients from 17 to 25, and had a total of 38,339 retail users (as of Nov. 30), up 32.5% from the end of 2004.

SETTRADE supported the Dr. Sax Chamber Orchestra, which went on to win the first prize in the International Youth Chamber Music Competition 2005 in Switzerland. Also, Surasak Montri School’s marching band, supported by SETTRADE, won the 15th world marching band competition in the Netherlands.
A talented young pianist, Mr. Tharin Supaprakorn, who played with world-class musicians in a SETTRADE sponsored concert, went on to win won the 1st Asian Piano Concerto Competition in Indonesia.
All of these events have shown that the Thai youth possess great music potential. If given opportunities, they will certainly bring pride to the country.
Additionally, SETTRADE places importance on preserving Thai traditional activities. The company, in conjunction with the SET and the Thai Chess Club, holds Thai chess competitions for youth and general chess enthusiasts annually.
