Thailand’s Energy Fund Admin. And EXIM Bank To List Bonds On Thai Bond Electronic Exchange

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has approved the listings of bonds issued by the Energy Fund Administration Institute (Public Organization), or EFAI, and the Export-Import Bank of Thailand, collectively worth THB33.4 bln. (approx. USD 814.6 mln.). These bonds will be listed on the SET’s Bond Electronic Exchange (BEX) on December 1, 2005.

The Energy Fund Administration Institute (Public Organization) issued and sold unsubordinated and unsecured straight bonds on October 13, 2005. The Thai Military Bank Pcl. will represent the bondholders. The EFAI will list its three bond issues, collectively worth THB26.4 bln. Details are as follows:

  • EFAI06OA is issue No.1/2005 worth THB 8.8 bln., with a fixed coupon rate of 4.28% p.a., due in 2006.
  • EFAI07OA is issue No.2/2005 worth THB 8.8 bln., with a fixed coupon rate of 5.26% p.a., due in 2007.
  • EFAI08OA is issue No.3/2005 worth THB 8.8 bln., with a fixed coupon rate of 5.87% p.a., due in 2008.
Interest payments for all three issues are due on the 13th of January, April, July, and October until maturity. TRIS Rating Co. Ltd. assigned ‘AA-’ credit ratings to them on September 9, 2005.

The EXIM Bank of Thailand issued and sold two bond issues on October 18, 2005, collectively worth THB7.0 bln. They are straight, unsubordinated and unsecured bearer bonds. Bangkok Bank Pcl. will represent bondholders. Details are as follows:

  • EXIM08OA is issue No.10 worth THB6.0 bln., with a fixed coupon rate of 5.10% p.a., due in 2008.
  • EXIM10OA is issue No.11 worth THB1.0 bln., with a fixed coupon rate of 5.50% p.a., due in 2010.
Interest payments for both issues are scheduled on the 18th of April and October until maturity. Fitch Ratings (Thailand) assigned ‘AA+ (tha)’ credit ratings to them on October 5, 2005.

“Listings of the EFAI and EXIM Bank bonds will boost the value of listed bonds on the BEX by THB33.4 bln. Thus, the total outstanding value of all listed bonds on the BEX will become THB730.55 bln.,” Mr. Santi Kiranand, Ph.D., CEO of the BEX said.
