The Thailand Futures Exchange plc (TFEX), under The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) group, announces it starts accepting applications for new membership following the liberalization of brokerage licensing by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and opens the opportunity for precious metal-related members to upgrade themselves as full members.
Both full member and precious metal-related member are being admitted. The full member is permitted to trade all products listed on the exchange, while the precious metal-related member is allowed to trade only gold and silver futures. The new member admission will encourage more companies to join the derivatives market and help expand the TFEX’s investor base, said TFEX Managing Director Kesara Manchusree.
TFEX also opens for existing precious metal-related member to apply for upgrading its status to full member, Kesara added.
Firms can apply for membership from now until the end of this year.
