The section features “In the Spotlight”, and “Numbers of the Week”. The former column features news and articles concerning global market trends, including the proposed merger of exchanges such as Euronext and NYSE, while the latter explains significant statistical data.
“This week, ‘In the Spotlight’ highlights the effects of global change and competition on bourses, disposing of the traditional perception that the stock exchange industry is a public service. International linkages are increasingly important for the whole industry, including Thai capital markets. Each fortnight, ’In the Spotlight’ will feature a significant current topic,” Mr. Sethaput said.
“Numbers of the Week” will present up-to-date economic and financial statistics from Thai and overseas markets. For example, during June 19 – 23, 2006, many countries are announcing their employment rates, and Japan will be unveiling developments in monetary policy -- both relevant to Thailand’s economy.
Also presented in ‘SET Research’ is SET Note, a periodical, in-depth analysis of issues to do with Thai corporations and the stock market generally. ‘SET Research’ also provides presentations on Thai market developments, market comparisons, and those used in the Exchange’s road shows (i.e., ‘International Exchanges Developments’, ‘Newsworthy’ and ‘Frequently Requested Statistics’).
