Corporate Social Responsibility Institute (CSRI), under The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), will hold the CSRI Recognition 2012 ceremony to honor and inspire Thai listed companies committed to continuously running their business for society’s benefit and being a good role model of sustainable business operation.
For the first time ever, CSRI Recognition 2012 will be held to honor listed companies prominent in CSR operation, consisting of the Rising Star, Most Improved CSR, and Most Innovative CSR.
SET President Charamporn Jotikasthira, said: “SET puts emphasis on enhancing and supporting listed companies in running their business with social responsibility so that firms will achieve international standards of sustainability. CSRI Recognition are classified by market capitalization as of the last business day of the latest year, just as in deciding on the winners of other CSR awards. Selection is based on each firm’s social responsibility policies especially CSR-in-Process, CSR reporting and CSR innovations. Candidates must not have won the Best CSR award in the SET Awards contest in the same year.
CSRI Chairman Chaiyawat Wibulswasdi, said: “To be sustainable in the longer term, a company must place emphasis on all stakeholders, including society, as doing so will eventually result in sustainability of the organization. Thai companies are giving increasing importance to operating their business with social responsibility. This year, CSRI encourages companies to produce Sustainability Development Reports in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative. The institute also provides guidelines to support CSR and offers training for companies to develop their CSR. The CSRI Recognition is to honor listed firms which are committed to developing themselves and continuously operate with social responsibility, thus being good role models and an inspiration to other companies.”
The event will be held on Monday, November 26 from 2:00-4:00 p.m., in the Exhibition Hall, SET building, Rachadapisek Road, Bangkok.
