The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) announces that the admission of new brokerage member is ready to open from January 1, 2012 in line with the liberalization of brokerage licensing by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The SET adjusted rules relating to membership admission for securities business by welcoming all qualified applicants based on their financial status, operations, readiness for securities business, and having brokerage license from SEC to apply for membership of the Exchange, starting from January 1, 2012” said Pakorn Peetathawatchai, SET’s Chief Marketing Officer. “We will have no limitations on the number of members and the admission period,”
“The membership admission adjustment should help expanding the SET’s investor base and open opportunities for business as well as increase service competition.” Pakorn added.
