Thai Bourse Strengthens Entrepreneurs With Venture Capital Project

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) reinforces its role as investment middleman by holding an “Innobiz (innovative business) Matching Day” in each August-October  to assist Thai business owners meet prospective business partners and funding sources to boost future growth.

The project by the SET, together with the National Innovation Agency, National Science and Technology Development Agency, Thai Business Incubators and Science Parks Association, Thai Venture Capital Association, aims to add to the business expertise of Thai firms and arrange meetings between entrepreneurs and potential partners, such as financial institutions, to build their business opportunities.

“The Capital Market Development Fund (CMDF) of the SET group encourages small businesses with above-average long-term growth potential to use the capital market for business expansion,” said CMDF Industry Development Center director Punsak Vejanurug.   

Innobiz Matching Day event enables participants to increase efficiency through seminars, workshops, and writing business plans. Business owners can apply for the program in August, but qualified companies will be selected to attend the program and meet venture capitalists to explore investment opportunities. CMDF develops the whole capital market, focusing on increasing the capability of personnel in securities companies and commercial banks to give investment advice more effectively. In the same time, it will continue to enhance the ability of investors and the general public to plan for and carry out prudent investment, including increasing their financial literacy.
