The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), through Settrade.com, has launched “Settrade Streaming for iPad”, a real-time, internet-based stock trade program, for investors who wish to trade by themselves, targeting investors with modern lifestyle. This new software will enable investors to conveniently send trade orders for both securities and derivatives, following the earlier success of a similar program for iPhones. Investors can download this free program through App Store from today onwards, simply by searching for “Settrade Streaming for iPad”.
Investors with trading accounts, with 32 participating brokers, either for securities or derivatives, can download the program onto their iPads and immediately activate the service by using the same username and password used with the streaming service, SET Chief Marketing Officer Pakorn Peetathawatchai reported.
“Investors have been increasingly more interested in performing trades by themselves, at their convenience, resulting in a significance rise in internet-based trades in 2010 to THB3.45 trillion (approx. USD111.29 billion). Such internet-based trades accounted for 24.54% of total market trade value in 2010, and was 21.40% year-on-year rise. Meanwhile, the number of internet trading accounts has risen from 2009 by 31.29% in 2010 to reach 266,283 accounts. The introduction of “Settrade Streaming for iPad” provides convenience for all types of investment in stock and derivatives, and consequently will further increase trade value and broaden the investor base.” Mr. Pakorn said

The SET developed “Settrade Streaming for iPhone” and introduced the service for comprehensive securities trade in 2010. The proportion of securities trade via mobile phone totaled THB37.18 billion (approx. USD1.19 billion) in 2010, a 724.50% increase from THB4.51 billion (approx. USD 145.48 million) in 2009. Stock trading via iPhones is the most popular with around 51,000 users active each month in 2011, or 80% of all mobile phone traders.
“Settrade Streaming for iPad” has been developed to increase trade details using the iPad screen, including full-screen display and bigger fonts. Investors can continuously monitor trade movement and stock prices via graphic illustrations, without delay and able to send in trade orders through the ‘One Touch’ system and instantly receive a trade summary. This will make it easier for investors to manage portfolios with multiple accounts. Moreover, the new application will provide all necessary data, including P/E, P/BV, yield and EPS, to assist in prudent decision-making that can be more accurate than ever.
