The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET)’s Capital Market Research Institute (CMRI) has joined hands with leading universities to conduct the 2011 capital market research grant for Master Degrees. The program creates a network among schools and entrepreneurs in the capital market aimed at encouraging quality research for the sustainable development of the Thai capital market.
“The global capital market evolves rapidly. Educational institutions can play a key role in detecting and following up such changes and help develop the Thai capital market to allow it to compete efficiently with its global rivals. At the same time, entrepreneurs in the Thai capital market can provide support to keep the evolution practical. The CMRI will link both sides to improve research quality,” reported SET President Charamporn Jotikasthira
The CMRI will provide financial support for capital market research. Participating institutions are to each submit 2 research projects and present their studies at the 2011 Capital Market Research Symposium, scheduled in November. Moreover, the CMRI and a group of capital market entrepreneurs will award a study as outstanding capital market research.
The CMRI will also open the Capital Market Research Clinic, where renowned individuals from the capital market will share ideas, make suggestions, and share about capital market industry practice. These activities will enable researchers and academics to have a deeper understanding of the capital market, making research more practical and possibly leading to careers in the capital market.
