Thai Bourse Hires Main Contractor For Its New Headquarters

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has signed an agreement hiring Nantawan Co,. Ltd. as the main contractor in constructing its new headquarters on Ratchadapisek Road, Dindaeng District, Bangkok, turning the compound into a complete capital market business center for investors and promoting "Matching Your Right Financial Opportunities". Construction is to be completed in 2015. 

SET Chairman Sompol Kiatphaibool said “Nantawan Co., Ltd. has all the qualifications required in the terms of reference for the building and is qualified, ready and able to undertake the project. The new headquarters will become a landmark and a Thai capital market business center, equivalent to international financial centers abroad, in line with the Capital Market Development Plan.”

SET President Charamporn Jotikasthira said: “The new headquarters, located on a 5.31 rai plot (0.85 hectares), will have 29 stories. The inspiration behind the design comes from SET’s logo and the headquarters will be an addition to Bangkok’s superb architecture. This building will be a model of environmental protection, following the concept of a green office, and is expected to receive gold-level LEED certification by the US Green Building Council, indicating social responsibility in terms of energy-saving, protection against pollution, and environmental friendliness, as well as using international-standard technology. SET’s new headquarters will be a center for securities trading and have full facilities to provide one-stop services for capital market-related activities. Moreover, it will serve as a learning center on  financial and investment planning for students at all levels and the general public.”

Managing Director of Nantawan Co., Ltd. Sompong Chintawongwanich said that the company is privileged to be selected as the main contractor of the project while asking for cooperation from all related parties to help complete the construction of the building.  Mr. Sompong also believes that the new SET building will become one of landmarks of Bangkok after its completion.
