Thai Bourse Discloses SET Indices Semi-Annual Review Results, Adjusted Criteria

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has recently announced the semi-annual index review results for the SET50, SET100 and SETHD indices to be effective the first half of 2015 (January 1 - June 30) as well as the adjusted criteria to delete constituents from SET50 and SET100 indices between the periodic review if free float is substantially reduced resulting from tender offers.

SET50 Index (SET50): four companies to be added as index constituents are CH. Karnchang pcl (CK), Hemaraj Land and Development pcl (HEMRAJ), Kaset Thai International Sugar Corporation pcl (KTIS) and Supalai pcl (SPALI), resulting in a combined market capitalization of the index worth THB 10.44 trillion, accounting for 71.46 percent of the total SET’s market capitalization (as of November 28, 2014).

SET100 Index (SET100): There will be 10 additions to the index, namely Anada Development pcl (ANAN), Demco pcl (DEMCO), Hana Microelectronics pcl (HANA), Ichitan Group pcl (ICHI), KTIS, PTG Energy pcl (PTG), Srisawad Power 1979 pcl (SAWAD), Siam Future Development pcl (SF), Siamgas and Petrochemicals pcl (SGP) and Samart I-Mobile pcl (SIM), resulting in a combined market capitalization of the index worth THB 11.62 trillion, accounting for 79.53 percent of the total SET’s market capitalization (as of November 28, 2014).

SET High Dividend 30 Index (SETHD): two companies will be added to the index, consisting of Jasmine International pcl (JAS) and Siamgas and Petrochemicals pcl (SGP), representing an average dividend yield of 3.86 percent from the total of 30 constituents in SETHD, higher than SET’s average dividend yield of 2.63 percent (between September and November 2014).

In addition, SET has also revised the criteria for the deletion of the constituents from SET50/SET100 index to apply in case a constituent in the SET50 and SET100 indices are being proposed a tender offer as such lowering its free float to less than 20 percent. SET will delete such constituent from SET50/SET100 index calculation prior to semi-annual periodic review. This adjusted criteria will be effective from January 1, 2015 onwards.
