Tel Aviv Stock Exchange's New Visitors Center Inaugurated On Historic Trading Floors

Date 12/09/2002

Tel Aviv - Silvan Shalom, deputy prime minister and finance minister of Israel, and Ron Huldai, mayor of Tel Aviv, inaugurated the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange's new Visitors Center last week in Tel-Aviv.

The Visitors Center is located on the Exchange's historic trading floors, which closed in 1999 when the TASE automated trading.

The Center, outfitted with advanced information technology, will serve as a key educational center as well as a suitable facility for corporate presentations. In addition, the media will find the Center an excellent venue for conducting broadcasts and interviews from the Exchange.

The heart of the Visitors Center is the Exchange World, an educational project designed to familiarize the general public - with particular emphasis on students - with the workings of the Exchange and the capital markets.

The center welcomes groups of visitors, who - through a series of multimedia presentations and video clips - will learn about the importance of the exchange. Subjects will include raising capital on the exchange, investment in securities, trading simulation, and interactive games in which visitors can participate.

In the past year, the TASE prepared enrichment materials designed for teachers and students in junior-high and high schools. In the coming year, the TASE plans to widen its cooperation with the Ministry of Education, and it warmly welcomes teachers and their classes to the Visitors Center for a unique educational experience.

The Center will operate a broadcast facility to enable TV reporters to broadcast and to conduct interviews. The backdrop will be a multicolored video wall that will stream exchange-trading data in real time. In addition to hosting market broadcasts, the facility will be the location for honoring VIPs and companies with market- opening ceremonies, new listings, and other events.

The Visitors Center will also serve as an events and convention center for the capital-market community. TASE-listed companies and investment houses will find a comfortable and convenient home in the new center. The center, equipped with advanced audio-visual systems, is designed to evoke the capital markets and provide an attractive and innovative venue for financial events and conventions.

The TASE's new logo was presented at the Visitors Center celebration.

The Visitors Center was designed and executed by Compugraphic Solutions of Givatayim, Israel.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, founded in 1953, is owned by its 28 member firms and is regulated by the Israel Securities Authority. The Exchange provides a highly advanced electronic trading system for shares, bonds, Treasury bills and derivatives. All trades are cleared and settled by the TASE Clearing House. The TASE offers international investors a combination of attractive investment opportunities and a full complement of market services, including an elaborate and user-friendly Website at www.tase.co.il.
