Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Trading Summary: November 22 - 26, 2015

  • Trading on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) during the fourth week of November was marked by declines in most leading share indices: 
  • Further bond offerings - the foreign real estate company "Strawberry Fields" made an initial bond offering on the TASE; 
  • The biomed company "Kitov Pharma" whose shares are traded on TASE, raised US$ 13 million from the public in the U.S. and listed its shares for trading on the NASDAQ 

TA-25 index 

The TA-25 index decreased 0.8% over the last week and increased 6.6% since the beginning of the year, after an increase of 10.2% for the whole of 2014.

TA-100 index 

The TA-100 index decreased 1.0% over the last week, and increased 4.5% since   the beginning of the year, after an increase of 6.7% for the whole of 2014.

TA Oil & Gas  

The TA Oil & Gas index increased this week by 3.3%.

Since the beginning of the year the index increased by 3.7%, after a decrease of 20.1% in 2014.

Corporate Bonds  

This week there were four bond offerings on the TASE by the business sector, totaling US$ 144 millionUS$ 68 million were raised by the foreign real estate company Strawberry Fields in an initial offering on the Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange, US$ 31 and US$ 27 million were raised by the companies Global Knafaim and Dimrirespectively, and US$ 18 million were raised by Kardan Vehicle in a second offering this year of commercial papers.

Since the beginning of the year, the business sector raised US$ 13.5 billion through bonds on the TASE.

Share Offering 

There was one public offering of shares on the TASE amounting to US$ 20 million, by the real estate companyIsras.

Since the beginning of the year, the business sector has raised US$ 0.9 billion through shares on the TASE.

Government Bonds 

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) made a bond offering this week listed on the TASE, amounting to US$ 0.2 billion.

Since the beginning of the year, the MoF raised a total of US$ 9 billion in bond offerings on the TASE.

Dual Listing  

The biomed company Kitov Pharma completed a public share offering in the U.S. amounting to US$ 13 million, and listed its shares for trading on the NASDAQ. Currently there are 58 companies traded on the TASE whose shares aretraded also in the US or in Europe.

BOI Interest Rate  

The Bank of Israel left the interest rate unchanged at 0.1% for December 2015.

Unemployment  

The Central Bureau of Statistics published figures this week indicating that the unemployment rate increased from 5.1% in September to 5.3% in October, which is still lower compared with 5.9% on average for 2014.

Composite State-of-the-Economy Index  

The Bank of Israel released figures indicating that the Composite State-of-the-Economy Index rose 0.3% in October.

The index began increasing again at the recent typical rate, after a slowdown in the rate of growth in the previous month.
