Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Trading Summary: January 10-14, 2016

  • Trading on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange in the second trading week of 2016 was ended with declines in all the major share indices; 
  • Sharp decrease in TA-Biomed and TA-Oil & Gas indices;
  • The US high tech company "Ability", whose shares are traded on the NASDAQ-CM, listed its shares for trading on the TASE;
  • The foreign real estate company "Delshah Capital" made an initial offering of bonds on the TASE

TA-25 index 

The TA-25 index decreased 2.6% over the last week and decreased 4.9% since the beginning of the year, after an increase of 4% for the whole of 2015.

TA-100 index

The TA-100 index decreased 2.8%over the last week and decreased 5.1% since the beginning of the year, after an increase of 2% for the whole of 2015.

TA-Biomed

The TA-Biomed index decreased this week by 9.2%. Since the beginning of the year, the TA-Biomed index fell by 18.3%, after a decrease of 24% in 2015.

TA-Oil & Gas

The TA-Oil & Gas index decreased this week by 7.6%. Since the beginning of the year, the TA-Oil & GAS index fell by 10.0%, after a decrease of 5% in 2015.

Corporate Bonds 

This week there was two bond offerings to the public on the TASE by the business sector:

US$ 102 million was raised by the foreign real estate company "Delshah Capital" in an initial public offering of bonds on the TASE, and "Hamashbir 365" raised US$ 23 million.

Since the beginning of the year, the business sector raised US$ 140 million in the bond market on the TASE.

In 2015, the business sector raised a total of US$ 14.1 billion on the TASE through bonds to the public, and a further US$ 0.6 billion was raised through bonds to institutional investors.

Government Bonds

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) made one bond offering this week on the TASE, amounting to US$ 0.3 billion. Since the beginning of the year, the MoF raised US$ 0.5 billion in bond offerings on the TASE.

In 2015, the MoF raised a total of US$ 10 billion in bond offerings on the TASE.

Dual Listing

The US high tech company "Ability", a provider of technological solutions to intelligence entities, and whose shares are traded on the NASDAQ-CM (Symbol: ABIL) made a dual listing. The company’s shares began this week to be traded also on the TASE.

The company’s shares are expected to be included in the TA-100, TA-75, TA-Tech-Elite, TA-BlueTech and TA Technology indices at on January 31, under the "fast track" arrangement.

Currently there are 60 companies traded on the TASE whose shares are also traded overseas.
