The broad Index (TEDPIX) of Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) has beaten the 60000 level for the first time in the first half of the current Iranian year (21st March – 22nd September 2013), and stood at 61707 point at the end of the period with more than 62 percent return.
The Exchange’s total market capitalization reached above IRR 3013 trillion on September 22, which is 76.5 percent more than its value at the beginning of the Iranian year, roughly IRR 1707.5 trillion.
The figures indicate TSE’s equities market impressive turnover growth in the period. The total trading volume at TSE was 81758 million shares, jumping about 192 percent in the period, comparing the same period last year with 27974 million shares. Also the trading value skyrocketed around 561 percent in the last six month to IRR 469.5 trillion, in comparison with IRR 71 trillion during the first half of the previous Iranian year.
The growing data include number of trades and traders as well at TSE. The former increased 226 percent to above 6.07 million times in a half-year since March 21 from 1.86 million times of last year’s same period; total number of traders also escalated 221 percent to more than 2 million this Iranian year’s first half from 646318 traders in the last year’s same period.
TSE had 121 trading days in the first half of the current year and 118 days during the same period last year.
