The Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges 2015 Annual meetings and General Assembly were held on 17th and 18th November in Isfahan. Tehran Stock Exchange, Iran Farabourse, Iran Mercantile Exchange, Central Securities Depository of Iran, Securities and Exchanges Brokerages Association were Iranian members. Meanwhile, Amman Stock Exchange, Damascus Securities Exchange, Bulgarian Stock Exchange, Kazakhstan Stock Exchange, Bucharest Stock Exchange, NASDAQ OMX Armenia; Muscat Securities Market, Egyptian Exchange, Cyprus Stock Exchange, Sarajevo Stock Exchange, Turkish Capital Market Association and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) were the foreign participants of the meetings.
At the beginning of the first day, Dr. Hassan Ghalibaf Asl congratulated the 20th establishment anniversary of FEAS to all members and noted that this would be the third time Iran has hosted General Assembly of FEAS.
Afterwards, Mr. Mustafa Baltaci, FEAS Secretary General summarized financial FEAS activities in 2015, including publications, activities of surveillance and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) working groups for the members. Then, Iran Farabourse and Kazakhstan Stock Exchange stated their enthusiasm in the project.
Moreover, FEAS Auditor reported on financial status of FEAS.
On Second day, CEO of Egyptian Stock Exchange, as the FEAS President, recommended members' joining UNCTAD's Sustainable Stock Exchanges initiative and emphasized on further environmental issues and corporate governance. He added on that World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) has also asked its members to comply with the cited requirements and principles of responsible investment.
Consequently, having checked and reported members assented to Cyprus and EBRD's membership in FEAS.
The Bucharest Stock Exchange will host the Federation's next working committee meeting in May 2016. The 2016 FEAS General Assembly will be hosted by Bahrain Bourse in Manama.
