Taiwan Stock Exchange To Showcase Industry Champions At The Biggest Investment Conference For The Year

Date 12/03/2013

Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE), together with Bank of America Merrill Lynch, will once again host the “Taiwan, Technology and Beyond" Conference from 12-14 March 2013. Taiwan’s capital market is increasingly valued by international investment corporations. Representatives from Europe, United States, Singapore and Hong Kong institutions with assets under management (AUM) of more than US$39 trillion are expected to participate.

The event will bring together 126 Taiwan-listed companies and 27 overseas-listed firms with a total market capitalization of more than US$768 billion. They will be joined by more than 300 institutional investors coming from Europe, United States, Singapore and Hong Kong in this year’s conference.

Participating companies include recognized leaders in the smartphone and the semiconductor sectors such as HTC Corp and TSMC, as well as leading foreign technology companies, including Samsung Electronics, Cisco International, ASML and Lenovo Group. Their presence reflects the increasing internationalization of Taiwan as a funding hub for high-tech companies.

Major financial institutions including Fubon, Mega, Yuanta and First Financial will also be joining the conference in the context of warming cross straits ties and Taiwan’s development into a RMB clearing and settlement centre. In addition, Far Eastern Department Store, Formosa International Hotels, Gourmet Master and Wowprime will be sharing the opportunities and challenges for Taiwanese companies in the Greater China market at the conference.

“We are delighted to be once again co-hosting the ‘Taiwan, Technology and Beyond’ conference and we look forward to welcoming some of the world’s premier companies and investors to Taiwan. Investors are sure to come away with an enhanced knowledge of the Taiwan capital market and our listed companies,” said Lee Sush-der, Chairman of Taiwan Stock Exchange.
