Taiwan Stock Exchange And MasterLink Brings Taiwan Companies To Kuala Lumpur

Date 11/11/2014

The Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) and the MasterLink Securities Corporation (MasterLink) today held an overseas investor conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Six large and growing enterprises from Taiwan were invited to 34 one-on-one and group meetings with local investment institutions, and struck a chord with institutional investors in Malaysia. During the conference luncheon, TWSE also shared the latest developments of the Taiwan capital market with local financial institutions.

In recent years, Malaysian financial institutions have expanded rapidly and become a funding source that the Taiwan capital market is pursing. The TWSE delegation was led by Senior Executive Vice President Chao-zon Yang, Executive Vice President of the Trading Department Rebecca Chen and SVP of the Corporate Communications Department Lawrence Shan. The MasterLink delegation was led by Executive Vice President Li Chen and Vice President of the Corporate Business Department David Lee, who invited major Malaysian institutions to join the conference.

The key industrial sectors of Malaysia are finance, agriculture, forestry and mining, and manufacturing, while Taiwan specializes in industries including electronics, biomedicine, precision machinery, and culture and creativity. Given these differences, Taiwan enterprises are highly appealing to Malaysian financial institutions. By highlighting the Taiwan market’s sound supervision system, high corporate transparency, and robust growth potential, the conference boosted the global visibility of the participating companies and will attract more investment from Malaysia, which will further internationalize and diversify the Taiwan capital market.

Companies that were invited to the non-deal roadshow included: Kinsus Interconnect Technology (3189), a leading IC support plate enterprise; Mega Holdings (2886), a top financial holding company; TECO Electric & Machinery (1504), a dominant high-efficiency motor company; Radiant Opto-Electronics (6176), a pioneering backlight modules manufacture; Kenda Rubber (2106), an internationally well-known tire brand; and F-Casetek (5264), a major metal case supplier to Apple Inc. They provided an update on their business and financial performance. These companies also attracted numerous large Malaysian institutional investors to sign up for the conference.
