Taiwan Futures Exchange Received Commission Certification From CFTC For Nifty 50 Futures Contract

The Taiwan Futures Exchange’s (TAIFEX) Nifty 50 Futures contract obtained Commission Certification from the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) on November 8, 2016, right after the launch of TAIFEX Nifty 50 Futures on November 7. The TAIFEX Nifty 50 Futures contract can now be offered and sold to U.S. persons. The Nifty 50 Futures contract is denominated in TWD and tracks the performance of Nifty 50 index, one of the most well- known Indian stock indices compiled by India Index Services & Products Limited (IISL).

In addition to the Commission Certification for Nifty 50 Futures contract, TAIFEX has received 6 No-Action Letters from the CFTC since 2004, including TAIEX Futures, Mini-TAIEX Futures, Taiwan Stock Exchange Finance Sector Index Futures, Taiwan Stock Exchange Non-Finance Non-Electronics Sub-Index Futures, Taipei Exchange Capitalization Weighted Stock Index Futures and TOPIX Futures.

Looking into the future, TAIFEX will continue to conduct overseas marketing campaigns, including roadshows as well as visits to attract more potential foreign participants into the market together with its effort in diversifying the product line and expanding the depth and breadth of Taiwan futures market.
