Taiwan And Singapore Stock Index Futures Break Several Records In February

Singapore Exchange (SGX) is pleased to announce that the MSCI Taiwan Index Futures contract and the MSCI Singapore Stock Index Futures contract broke several records in February.

Daily contracts traded for the MSCI Taiwan Index Futures hit a new high of 62,477 on 25 Feb, breaking the previous record of 61,594 set on 28 Jan. Also on 25 Feb, its open interest of 61,387 toppled the previous record of 58,625 set on 30 Jan.

The MSCI Singapore Stock Index Futures contract similarly broke the daily trading and open interest records in February. The new record for the daily trading volume was set on 25 Feb when 10,124 contracts were traded, and open interest on 26 Feb at 12,918. The respective previous records for daily trading volume and open interest were 9,507 (set on 27 Nov last year) and 12,596 (set on 28 Jan this year). Compared to February last year, the volume of the contracts traded grew by about 57 per cent.
