(Taipei) Taiwan Futures Exchange, the TAIFEX, has been officially admitted to the Association of Futures Markets (AFM) as the 20 th member of the association when the General Assembly passed TAIFEX’s application to become a full member on March 12.
In 1998, the Association of Futures Markets was founded in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The association has been expanding its membership and has established itself further as an association for emerging markets. The AFM annual conference was held in Buenos Aires this year to celebrate its 10 th anniversary, and TAIFEX was on hand once again to share its experiences in the area of IT and product innovation. Regulator, exchange officials and brokerage executives were invited to share views, experiences and tackle important issues currently facing emerging exchanges. As one of the world’s top futures markets, TAIFEX is in a very advantageous position to collaborate with other derivatives markets in the region and to explore potential for future development.
Joining the AFM provides TAIFEX with yet another venue to showcase its tremendous strength as one of the most vibrant emerging derivatives markets in the Asia-Pacific region. Never content to rest on its laurels, TAIFEX will continue to build on its success to further improve its services and provide investors with an efficient and innovative marketplace.
