T Eric Kilcollin Resigns, Effective in March, As Chicago Mercantile Exchange CEO

Date 21/01/1999

On January 21, T. Eric Kilcollin announced his resignation as president and chief executive officer of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). The resignation will be effective in March, although Kilcollin has agreed to remain longer if requested until a successor is found. "My challenge was to help position the CME for continued growth in the extremely dynamic risk management business," said Kilcollin. "With a strong strategic plan, excellent financials and an exceptional staff now in place, my job is completed. I am highly confident that the exchange, under the strong leadership of (Chairman) Scott Gordon and its board, will move the membership toward rapid implementation of the CME's strategic plan and continued pre-eminence in the risk management business. It has been an honour and a privilege for me to serve the CME"
