Sydney Futures Exchange Moving Forward

The Chairman of the Sydney Futures Exchange (SFE), Mr Rick Holliday-Smith, outlines the way forward for SFE following the departure on 14 January of longstanding Chief Executive Mr Leslie Hosking. "It is business as usual at SFE. We have an experienced management team in place to ensure that demutualisation plans, global alliances, product expansion and the development of our electronic trading system all continue without disruption. "Notwithstanding my position as non-Executive Chairman, I will be assuming a more hands-on role in conjunction with an executive management committee led by three senior managers. "An international search is underway, conducted by Heidrick & Struggles Australia Ltd, to find a new chief executive. It is not a quick-fix appointment. Locating the right person necessarily will take some time. "In the interim, SFE's existing projects, strategic plans and record of innovation will be actively moved forward."
