SWX Swiss Exchange Trading Statistics - January 2000

The turnover in domestic shares in January 2000 was CHF 79,175.7 million, that of domestic options CHF 5,071.1 million and domestic bonds 7,245.9 million. Domestic securities turnover in January was 91,492.7 million. The turnover in foreign shares in January 2000 was CHF 5,873.2 million and that of foreign bonds CHF 5,645.6 million. Foreign securities turnover in January was 11,518,8 million. Total turnover in January was CHF 103,011.5 million. Eurobond turnover in January was USD 85.7 million (EUR 146.2 million). There were 238 Swiss companies and 172 foreign companies listed at the end of January and 289 Swiss companies and 181 foreign shares listed. At the end of January there were 650 Swiss options and 455 foreign options listed at the SWX and 1013 Swiss bonds and 730 foreign bonds.
