SWX Swiss Exchange - Investment Company Segment Trading Also In Foreign Currency

Date 30/05/2000

As of 1 June 2000, investment companies that are listed on the SWX Swiss Exchange can apply for their shares to be traded in a foreign currency. Other than the Swiss-franc trading basis that has been available to date, a choice can now be made between US dollars and euros.

SWX introduced the investment company trading segment on 13 October 1997. The Additional Rules for the Listing of Investment Companies are supplemental to the SWX Listing Rules and take into account the special needs of this particular industry group. Among other things, it differs from the main trading segment in that no track record is required for listing. At present, 31 entities with a total market capitalisation of approximately CHF 28.5 billion are listed in the SWX investment company segment.
