In line with the policy to internationalize the market and catch up with the global benchmarks, the SEO welcomed a high-ranking delegation from Switzerland on December 14th.
The main points discussed in the meeting included the linkage between the capital markets of Switzerland and Iran via the cooperation of the market authorities, SEO and FINMA and the Exchanges of both countries
Mr. Joerg Gasser, the State Secretary, Federal Department of Finance of Switzerland, along with the Swiss Ambassador to Tehran, Mr. Julio Haas, paid a visit to the SEO headquarters on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 and had a meeting with the Chairman of the SEO, Dr. Mohammadi, and other high officials of the SEO.
The main points discussed in the meeting included the linkage between the capital markets of Switzerland and Iran via the cooperation of the market authorities, SEO and FINMA and the Exchanges of both countries. The Swiss attendees welcomed the idea of technical and knowledge sharing to improve the Iranian capital market both nationally such as IT and financial instruments and internationally such as IOSCO membership upgrading.
Dr. Mohammadi pointed at the attractive sector of commodity market in Iran and believed that the Iranian commodities including agricultural and petrochemical commodities and energy can be exported via the commodity exchanges of Iran. He also talked about the derivatives in the market on different commodities and promised that they would be attractive for foreign investors.
