Swedish and Danish Equity Trading Unites
Date 21/06/1999
For the first time in history, two separate stock markets have linked up. Today marks the start of equity trading on the OM Stockholm Exchange and the Copenhagen Stock Exchange via a single system. This implies trading in Swedish and Danish shares via a single system and according to common trading rules-70% of the total Nordic equity market is now accessible from one system.
This system, formerly known as SAX2000, has been renamed SAXESS ahead of its international launch. SAXESS is being marketed to the world's large and medium-sized exchanges. The launch was initiated as early as last week when OM Technology demonstrated the system for a number of exchanges at an industry expo in New York.
SAXESS is a world leader in terms of flexibility, functionality and performance-SAXESS is a new benchmark for equity trading system performance, constructed to handle over 2,000 transactions per second.
SAXESS trading has been underway on the OM Stockholm Exchange since March this year-the system has been developed by OM Technology in its entirety
