SunGard’s Valdi Solution And Global Network Win 2012 FOW Award For Asia

Date 17/10/2012

SunGard has won “Best New Product – Trading and Execution” in the 2012 FOW Awards for Asia for the extension of its Valdi solution and the SunGard Global Network (SGN) into China.

SunGard has added access to China in the past year, and brokerage firms are already using Valdi and SGN to access the three major commodity futures exchanges, Dalian, Shanghai and Zhengzhou, and the CFFEX financial futures venue. Customers also offer direct market access and care order services to buy-side firms via SGN.

SunGard’s Valdi gateway software provides access to more than 140 trading venues worldwide, which supports Software as a Service* (SaaS) connectivity to more than 110 venues.

In addition, SGN delivers normalized, real-time price data from more than 110 venues via more than 25 hubs in financial centers worldwide. It connects more than 2,100 asset managers and more than 500 brokerage firms for rapid and efficient order routing and trading.

William Mitting, editor of FOW, said, “Our awards recognize technology companies that have solved a problem creatively, opened up new possibilities, or changed the way participants approach the region. The costs and operational complexity involved in low latency exchange connectivity in China are high, making Valdi’s managed service particularly valuable for local and international brokers.”

Nasser Khodri, managing director for SunGard’s capital markets business in Asia Pacific, said, “SunGard has steadily expanded its connectivity over the years, aiming to be present wherever electronic trading is developing and actively participating in its progress. As China's financial and commodity markets gradually open to foreign investors, SunGard is once again serving the local participants at an early stage while helping international customers take advantage of new opportunities.”

*SunGard Financial Systems is transforming the way its software solutions are created and delivered to its customers.
