Successful First Trading Day Of Exmar On The First Market Of Euronext Brussels

On Monday 23 June 2003, 7,350,000 ordinary shares of the company Exmar were admitted on the continuous segment of the First Market of Euronext Brussels.

Last Friday, 20/6/2003, the extraordinary shareholders' meeting of the Belgische Scheepvaartmaatschappij - Compagnie Maritime Belge (CMB), approved the partial demerger of the company, by spinning off its Gas Transport Business into a new Belgian listed public limited liability company, Exmar NV (Exmar), whose registered office is located in Antwerp. The activities relating to the transport of dry bulk and of crude oil remain within the original company, CMB.

Exmar transports mainly LNG, LPG, ammonia and petrochemical gases and is considered as one of the leading independent gas transport companies in the world. The fleet currently operated by Exmar consists of 8 LNG tankers, 3 very large gas carriers, 28 midsize vessels, 3 ethylene vessels, 6 fully pressurized vessels, 1 floating production storage and offloading unit and 1 floating accomodation unit under construction.

At the end of the first trading day the price rose by 31.13% to close at EUR 32.60, bringing the market capitalisation of Exmar at EUR 239.6 million. On the electronic orderbook, a total of 52,881 shares were traded amounting to a turnover of EUR 1,682,243.
