New Zealand Exchange Limited (NZX) is pleased to welcome Dunedin based investment bank Parker O' Connor Trust Ltd as the first new NZX sponsor of 2007, bringing the total group of NZX Sponsors to 47.
NZX Markets Development Manager, Geoff Brown said, “As more companies begin to understand the benefits of the NZX Markets to raise capital, trade and grow, it will be vital to have a wide network of experienced professionals as NZX Sponsors to provide companies with the information and tools needed to take advantage of these benefits.”
“There are a significant number of businesses throughout Otago, Southland and Canterbury considering NZX listing as an option to fund growth over the next few years. Having Parker O' Connor Trust Ltd as a new Dunedin-based NZX Sponsor will strengthen the advisor network available to these companies,” said Brown.
NZX Sponsors are trained professionals often from banking, broking, accounting and legal backgrounds. An NZX Sponsor works as a partner with smaller firms who are moving from private company to NZX Listed status, assisting to bring these companies to market and advising them once listed.
