STOXX Ltd., the leading provider of European equity indexes, today announced the results of the regular annual review of the Dow Jones STOXX 50, Dow Jones EURO STOXX 50, Dow Jones STOXX NORDIC 30, Dow Jones STOXX EU Enlarged 15 and Dow Jones STOXX Sub Balkan 30 blue-chip indexes as well as the results of the semi-annual review of the Dow Jones STOXX Eastern Europe 50 Index. The changes will be effective on September 21, 2009.
The following company will be added to the Dow Jones STOXX 50 Index: RWE AG (Germany, Utilities, RWE.XE). The company exiting the index is: PHILIPS ELECTRONICS N.V. (Netherlands, Personal & Household Goods, PHIA.AE).
The following companies will be added to the Dow Jones EURO STOXX 50 Index: ANHEUSER-BUSCH INBEV N.V. (Belgium, Food & Beverage, ABI.BT) and CRH PLC (Ireland, Construction & Materials, CRH.DB). The companies exiting the index are: FORTIS N.V. (Netherlands, Insurance, FORSY) and RENAULT S.A. (France, Automobiles & Parts, RNO.FR).
The following company will be added to the Dow Jones STOXX EU Enlarged 15 Index: GEDEON RICHTER NYRT. (Hungary, Health Care, RICHTER.BU). The company exiting the index is: PKN ORLEN S.A. (Poland, Oil & Gas, PKN.WA).
The following company will be added to the Dow Jones STOXX Sub Balkan 30 Index: POZAVAROVALNICA SAVA D.D. (Slovenia, Insurance, POSR.LJ). The company exiting the index is: ISTRABENZ D.D. (Slovenia, Oil & Gas, ITB.LJ).
The following company will be added to the Dow Jones STOXX Eastern Europe 50 Index: BANK ZACHODNI WBK S.A. (Poland, Banks, BZW.WA). The company exiting the index is: ALAPIS S.A. (Greece, Health Care, ALAPIS.AT).
The composition of the Dow Jones STOXX NORDIC 30 Index will remain unchanged.
Changes made to the blue-chip index series are being announced today after the conclusion of a regular annual review. The review is based on the blue-chip rules published on www.stoxx.com using the September 2009 blue-chip selection lists. The selection lists are based on the stocks in the corresponding Dow Jones STOXX 600 Index, Dow Jones EURO STOXX Index, Dow Jones STOXX NORDIC Index, Dow Jones STOXX EU Enlarged Total Market Index (TMI), Dow Jones STOXX Eastern Europe Sub Balkan Total Market Index (TMI), Dow Jones STOXX Eastern Europe 300 Index and their free-float market capitalization as of August 31, 2009. The component selection lists that are used for the 2009 annual Dow Jones STOXX blue-chip index review are based on the Industry Classification Benchmark (ICB).
The underlying component data - new numbers of shares and free-float factors - will be announced on September 16, 2009 and reflect all corporate actions effective before the above changes are implemented on the third Friday of September (September 18). The changes will be effective on the next trading day, September 21, 2009.
