Stock Exchange Of Thailand: Top Ten Most Active Stocks And Brokers In August 2001

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Executive Vice President, Acting SET President, Mr. Surat Palalikit, disclosed that SET secutrities trading in August recorded a total market turnover of 17,910.21 million shares in volume and 172,408.80 million baht in value, increased by 81,336.44 million baht from July. The SET Index closed on August 31 at 335.57, up by 37.88 points or 12.72 % from the previous month."

"An overall better performance of SET listed companies in the first half of 2001 which shows 70% of the total have net profits, is one of the key factors for trading in August. Overall operational results of listed companies shows an improvement in profits of 275% over the same period in 2000. This factor helps attract more investment and results in higher trading turnover in August." Mr.Surat said.
