Stock Exchange Of Thailand: SSI, ATC, ITV, MS, AP, LALIN, SIRI And AMATA Added In SET50 Index Calculation Starting July 1, 2003

The Executive Vice President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), Ms. Patareeya Benjapolchai, announced that the SET had selected a number of new securities to be included in the calculation of the SET50 Index for the second half of 2003 (July 1 - December 31, 2003). The selection of these securities is based on market capitalization and specific liquidity criteria. Trading statistics for the period June 1, 2002 - May 31, 2003 were used for the calculation. For securities to be eligible for inclusion, they must neither be suspended for a long period or face possible delisting.

The eight new securities added to the list are Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Co., Ltd. (SSI) from the Building and Furnishing Materials Sector, The Aromatics (Thailand) Public Co., Ltd. (ATC) from the Chemicals and Plastics Sector, ITV Public Co., Ltd. (ITV) from the Entertainment and Recreation Sector, Millennium Steel Public Co., Ltd. (MS) from Companies under Rehabilitation Sector, as well as Asian Property Development Public Co., Ltd. (AP), Lalin Property Public Co., Ltd. (LALIN), Sansiri Public Co., Ltd. (SIRI), and Amata Corporation Public Co., Ltd. (AMATA) from the Property Development Sector ," Ms. Patareeya said.

Ms. Patareeya went on to say that: "These eight securities have been chosen to replace the International Finance Corporation of Thailand (IFCT) in the Banking Sector, TT&T Public Co., Ltd. (TT&T), United Communication Industry Public Co., Ltd. (UCOM) and Jasmin International Public Co., Ltd. (JASMIN) in the Communication Sector. Other companies to be replaced are the Thai Petrochemical Industry Public Co., Ltd. (TPI) in the Companies under Rehabilitation Sector, Cal-Comp Electronics (Thailand) Public Co., Ltd. (CCET) in the Electronic Components Sector, and ABN Amro Asia Securities Public Co., Ltd. (AST) and Capital Nomura Securities Public Co., Ltd. (CNS) in the Finance and Securities Sector."
