Mr. Kirati Kosicharoen, Vice President- Marketing and Business Development Department of SETTRADE Dot Com Co., Ltd. disclosed that more than 90 percent of the well over 20 million mobile phone users in Thailand use the SMS (short message service) as it is an easy, fast and convenient way to keep themselves updated on news and information. With the SMS advantages, SETTRADE has thus developed the 'SMS Stock Info' service for investors. Moreover, for the year 2004, it has added more stock information that will be reported through SMS. The new stock information will be made available to a wider range of mobile phone users including those of AIS, DTAC and Orange. This means all users of GSM Advance, 1-2-Call, DTAC, HAPPY Dprompt, Talk Plan, and Just Talk mobile phone packages will now be able and eligible to use SETTRADE's SMS Stock Info service.
"The new package of the SMS Stock Info service will have the SET Index and total market turnover added to the previous package which currently reports the latest stock prices, price and percentage changes, best bid & offer prices, as well as the top active volumes and values. These will enable investors to closely monitor stock market conditions and make timely decisions no matter where they are. This stock information service will suitably serve investors in the year 2004 which shows signs of continuing its promising growth trend. With the improved SMS Stock info service, SETTRADE has a target to increase its number of users by doubling its current numbers or a 100 percent increase," Mr. Kirati said.
"For people interested in using the service, just prompt for the SMS or write- message screen, type the securities code, and send the SMS to number 80099 for the AIS and Orange customers, or to number 1922999 for the DTAC customers. After that, they will get an SMS showing the latest stock information including the latest SET Index and trading turnover all within 3 seconds. The service delivers more information at a faster speed but at an existing rate, which remains 3 baht per message."
